Anish Kapoor

I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Australia that was more work than play – but I managed to squeeze in a few good spots along the way. I never skip the chance to visit modern art museums, and I totally fell in love with the MCA. It’s just the right size that you can see it all within an hour if you’re in a hurry, and the cafe perched on the rooftop overlooking Sydney harbor is awesome (and surprisingly affordable).

If you’re in Sydney in the very near future, do yourself a favor and check out the Taboo exhibit and the works of Anish Kapoor – you won’t regret it.

This sculpture by Richard Jackson at the Orange County Museum of Art is epic. The dog “pees” yellow paint onto the exterior of the building. Something tells me my dad wouldn’t find this the least bit funny. High-five for modern art!

Sometimes I wish our house would just up and fly to a different city. Don’t get me wrong, I love living in the mountains. But I’m about the most restless person you’ve ever met – I constantly want to live somewhere new. Oh the house is decorated? Great, let’s box it up and start ALL OVER AGAIN. The cities I dream of living in…for 6 months. And the fabulous cities I would move to after. The flats. The houses. The farms. The new languages. The new obnoxious neighbors. The new used furniture. The new adventure…
