Tommy Edison takes a minute to explain what blind people see, or at least, what he sees. It should be noted that Tommy has been blind his whole life. He also has a rather fun instagram feed.
a love story
Marina Abramovic’s documentary, The Artist is Present, recently screened here in town, which reminded me of this phenomenal performing artist I had somehow forgotten about over the years. I was always fond of the stories about her and Ulay, her partner both in art and love in the 70s. I found their departure from one another so touching – they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from a different end, meeting for one last hug in the middle, never to see each other again. That is of course until her recent performing art piece, in which Abramovic shared a minute of silence with strangers who sat in front of her. The incredible emotion in this moment of shared silence is stunning.
